Lattafa Fakhar Review

Lattafa Fakhar is the bottle that turns up on more of our rankings than almost anything else on this site — the summer list, the office list, the teen list, the under-$50 list. It earns those places by being genuinely difficult to wear wrong at a price that makes the question almost irrelevant. It is also, and we say this as a compliment, not very interesting.

How it smells

A bright citrus-and-apple opening with an aromatic freshness, drying down into clean woods. The reference points owners reach for are the whole blue designer shelf at once — the Sauvage, Bleu de Chanel and YSL Y lane — rather than any one bottle, with a faintly tropical fruity twist that gives it a little personality of its own. If you have smelled a mid-price designer aquatic in the last decade you know the shape of this immediately, which is exactly why it works as a first bottle and exactly why it will never be a signature.

Longevity and sillage

By aggregated owner consensus, Fakhar sits in the moderate-to-strong band — a solid working day on skin with sensible projection for the first few hours, then a close, clean drydown. It is not a beast, and it does not try to be; that restraint is what makes it office-safe. Note that the blue Fakhar is the fresh one — the house also sells Fakhar Black, a darker bottle owners rate as one of the better Bleu de Chanel clones, and Fakhar for women, which is a creamy white floral. Same name, three completely different fragrances.

Who it's for — and who should skip it

Buy it if you want a dependable fresh scent you can spray on a Tuesday morning without thinking, if you are buying a first bottle for a teenager, or if you want something you genuinely will not mind losing at the gym. Skip it if you want to be asked what you are wearing. Fakhar plays it safe on purpose, and the flip side of never offending anyone is never intriguing anyone either. If that is what you are after, our date-night ranking is a better starting point.

What else to consider

Montblanc Explorer is the mid-price designer doing a more polished version of this idea, with stronger performance and a price to match — it is on this page as the natural upgrade. Nautica Voyage is the other direction: cheaper still, even easier to like, and noticeably shorter-lived. Between those three you have the entire fresh-aquatic budget field covered, and the honest answer is that most people would be equally happy with any of them. Nautica Nautica Voyage

The best cheap crowd-pleaser, full stop

Nautica Voyage

7.2/10

The honest answer to 'what's a cheap cologne that just smells good?' A fresh aquatic-and-green-apple scent that is so inoffensive it is basically impossible to dislike. Nobody calls it complex; everybody calls it pleasant. The catch is longevity — it fades fast.

How we picked

We do not run a testing lab — and we say so

Our rankings compile published note structures and concentration data, aggregate owner and community longevity and sillage reports, and apply a published rubric to every bottle — with first-hand impressions only where they're genuine. The scores are judgments from that research; they are not lab measurements, and we do not claim to have smelled every batch. Formulations change; where a claim came from someone else, we name and link them in Sources.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is Lattafa Fakhar worth it?

At around twenty dollars, yes — it is a clean, versatile fresh-fruity scent with a solid working day of longevity, and it is almost impossible to wear wrong. What it is not is distinctive. Buy it as a dependable daily driver, not as a fragrance people will remember you for.

What does Lattafa Fakhar smell like?

Bright citrus and apple over an aromatic freshness, drying down to clean woods with a faintly tropical fruity edge. It sits in the same broad lane as the popular blue designers rather than copying any single one of them.

What is the difference between Fakhar, Fakhar Black and Fakhar for women?

Three different fragrances sharing a name. The blue Fakhar reviewed here is the fresh citrus-apple one; Fakhar Black is a darker bottle owners rate among the better Bleu de Chanel clones; Fakhar for women is a creamy white-floral-and-vanilla scent covered in our women's ranking. Check the bottle colour in the listing before you buy.

How long does Lattafa Fakhar last?

Owner reports put it in the moderate-to-strong band — comfortably a working day on most skin, with the first few hours doing the projecting and a close, clean drydown after that. Reapplication is rarely needed before the evening.
